How to Turn On 2FA for Scalr

Please note: Specific instructions for enabling 2FA are subject to change without notice. Please check with each website or app for the most up-to-date information on this feature.

As your organization grows, so does the risk of a weak or lost password compromising your infrastructure. To protect your organization against password compromises, you can enable two-factor authentication (2FA), which mandates the use of a TOTP token in addition to the user's password in order to grant access to Scalr. Scalr strongly encourages you to use 2FA to secure your account.

1. Click on your profile (email address), and select “Security.”

2. Click “Enabled.”

3. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be presented with a key and a QR Code. You can either manually enter the key into your TOTP device or app, or scan the QR Code.

4. Once you’ve configured your TOTP device or app, enter the code that is provided to you, and click “Enable.” You’ll be provided with a Reset Code, make sure you save it somewhere safe (and not with your password!). You’ll need it in case you lose your device and need to reset 2FA.
