How to Turn On 2FA for Star Wars: The Old Republic

Please note: Specific instructions for enabling 2FA are subject to change without notice. Please check with each website or app for the most up-to-date information on this feature.

You can increase your account security and protection with the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Security Key. Available as a physical or mobile security key, this optional security key takes only a few minutes to set up and gives your account an additional layer of two-factor authentication, providing much greater protection against unauthorized access even if your computer becomes compromised. Each time you log in to the game or to the website, your security key will generate a unique, eight (8) digit, one-time use digital code to use in addition to your regular Star Wars: The Old Republic password.

 1. Log in to your Account.

2. You will see the Security Key section, Click Learn More.

3. You must verify your email address if you haven’t already. Enter your email address into the field. Click Validate Now.

Check your email for the generated link and click on it. Follow the instructions.

4. Answer your security questions. You need at least three security questions answered before you can set up your security key. Once finished, click on Security Key in the menu column. Select the setup option you prefer.

5. Enter the One-Time Password sent to the email address associated with your account and click Continue.

If you continue to have an issue with receiving One-Time Password, you may consider enabling a mobile security key on your account. You will only receive one email within any 15 minute period regardless of the number of login attempts, unless you successfully use the prior One-Time Password

The One-Time Password is emailed immediately, but it can take up to 15 minutes to arrive depending on the email carrier you use.
